About

Christine

My passion for sewing and for fabrics started at a tender age of twelve back in Zimbabwe. I would kindly borrow my mother's sewing machine in her absence, and before I knew it I was her part time seamstress. Launching Sireka Designs has not only allowed me to fulfill my passion for sewing in which I have over 12 years of experience, but also allows me to show Africa's beauty from a totally different perspective.

The name Sireka is in honor of my grandparents Simeon Rebecca Kaseke, a representation of family love, culture and style. Sireka's products are made from some of Africa's finest cotton prints. Most fabrics are limited editions as African fabric designers often do not repeat their designs, with only a few exceptions. What makes the bags unique is they are one of a kind and I pay a lot of attention to detail and quality workmanship. The styles and designs are specifically created to be both trendy and functional.

The bags are comprised of prints from countries like Zimbabwe, Zambia, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana among others. All of Sireka's products are handmade in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
